Green Cleaning

9/12/2006

Green cleaning continues to gain momentum driven in part by third party certification programs like Green Seal GS-37, EPA Design for the Environment (DfE), and EcoLogo TerraChoice. The aim of green chemistry is to provide the marketplace with cost effective, more environmentally friendly alternatives that meet specified biodegradation protocols while performing as well as traditional cleaning chemistries.

For the formulator looking for high performance raw materials that not only have the ability to be certified via green programs, but also are designed with the latest technological advancements, ICT offers several raw materials that can be utilized in hard and soft surface green cleaning formulations.

Flexiclean CC-551G is ICT’s latest dispersant polymer technology that provides powerful cleaning properties, encapsulating non-tacky residue, and antisoiling and stain enhancement to cleaned soft surfaces like carpet and upholstery. When used properly, Flexiclean CC-551G has been incorporated as a key ingredient in formulations that have been certified via third party programs like Green Seal GS-37 and EPA DfE. Also, when used as prescribed, Flexiclean CC-551G formulations will readily pass the stringent guidelines set out by the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Seal of Approval program which places emphasis on a product’s performance attributes.

Other raw materials offered by ICT that may be incorporated into green formulations include: non-silicone antifoam, Flexistop AF-333
