ICT hosted rising ninth-grade students who were participating in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Academy summer camp held by Georgia Highlands College, Cartersville campus, and the Bartow County School System. Lab tours, a tour of the manufacturing plant, discussions sparked by inquisitive questions and a pizza lunch were part of their visit to ICT.
These students had expressed an interest in a science-based career and the opportunity to learn about potential jobs in the STEM areas. STEM Academy students represented Cartersville, Adairsville, South Central, Woodland, and Excel Christian Academy schools.
